The utility comes before the offer.
Find the delivery provider on the actual bill, then check the commodity, account class and applicable program. These pathways do not perform an address or eligibility lookup.
ComEd
ComEd supplies distribution service to its electric customers. Eligible accounts can evaluate retail supply offers while ComEd delivery remains. Use the actual service class and bill; a residential price-to-compare figure is not a quote for every business.

Treat Ameren electricity and gas as separate account decisions. Electric retail choice and business gas transportation have different requirements. Gas Rider T terms and timing should be reviewed directly with Ameren rather than inferred from the electric enrollment process.

The ICC lists Nicor Gas among utilities with residential and small-commercial gas-choice programs. Verify the actual service class, current program terms and supplier registration. Utility delivery continues and its fixed and usage charges belong in the budget.

For a Peoples Gas account, identify the customer class and current gas-choice terms before comparing a supplier. Separate supply price, recurring fees and utility delivery. A shared building or landlord-held meter also requires an authority check.

North Shore Gas is one of the utilities identified by the ICC for small-customer gas-choice programs. Compare offers under the actual account program, period and units rather than a general statewide gas number.

Municipal electric systems and cooperatives should not be treated as ordinary ComEd or Ameren retail-choice accounts. Start with the actual utility and its tariffs. Bill analysis, safe demand management, efficiency and the separate gas account may still offer useful review opportunities.
